Privacy policy

The Platform is not open to the public yet. This policy covers this website and the waitlist. When the app opens, this page will be extended to cover it, and we will tell everyone on the waitlist before that happens.

Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is the owner of The Platform, an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia, trading as The Platform (theplatformbuild.com). For anything about your data, write to support@theplatformbuild.com.

What we collect

Waitlist: your email address, and nothing else. Our email provider also records when you signed up and confirmed, which language form you used, and whether you open our emails, so that it can prove your consent and deliver the emails.

Visiting the website: we use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie is lang, set when you choose a language, so the site remembers it. The browser also stores whether you dismissed the language suggestion (local storage, never sent to us). Our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks; we do not use it to identify you.

We use your email address to tell you when the private beta and the public launch open, and to send occasional news about the product until then. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You give it by signing up and clicking the confirmation link we send (double opt-in); until you click it, you receive no other emails. Hosting data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who processes your data for us

  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) stores the waitlist and sends the emails. Data is stored in the EU.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts this website on its global network. Transfers outside the EU are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When the waitlist is no longer needed after the public launch, we delete it. Addresses that are never confirmed receive no emails and are removed from the list.

How to unsubscribe

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom; one click takes you off the list. You can also write to support@theplatformbuild.com and we will remove you.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what happened before. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, for example the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland or IMY in Sweden.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email address, we will tell you by email first.
